Metal Wall System 1,900 Sft 2ply SBS Reroofing 5,500 Sft Completed: Winter 2015 The Patagonia Storefront project provided our Sheet Metal team with a variety of exciting and unique opportunities. The Metal Wall system specified was consistent of interlocking metal singles crafted in a range of sizes. All the singles were fabricated in house utilizing a Weathering Steel known as “Corten” Corten is a corrosion resistant steel that is left uncoated, overtime the steel develops an outer layer Patina that acts as protective barrier against further corrosion. GRC Columbia was also responsible for the installation of 5,500 Sft of new 2ply SBS roofing.
Mercedes Benz Vancouver
– 550 Terminal Ave, Vancouver, BC.
Composite Wall Panels: 42,500 sft Metal Wall Cladding: 38,500 sft Membrane Waterproofing: 80,000 Sft 2ply SBS Roofing: 5000 Sft Completed: Summer 2014 The Mercedes Benz Vancouver Location is a very special project for everyone at GRC. This project is an excellent example of all three of the specialized trades within GRC working together to create a functional, dynamic and eye catching building. While the cladding and architectural panels help to create a clean and stylish look. It would be The 80,000 Sft of rubberized asphalt waterproofing that will keep this place in pristine condition for years to come.
Legacy Retirement Community

SBS Roofing: 20,000 Sft Membrane Waterproofing: 9000 Sft Completed: Fall 2014 The Legacy Retirement Community tower on 41st and Cambie Street in Vancouver, is an excellent example of our expertise when it comes to multi-unit residential tower projects. In an effort to meet the demands of both the contractor and the questionable spring weather we utilized much larger than average roofing crews to complete the SBS Roofing safety and well ahead of schedule.
Camp Capilano

Metal Roofing:8300 Sft Completed:Spring 2014 Located on the North Shore Camp Capilano was in pretty serious need of a new roof. GRC removed the tired existing roof and replaced it with a much more durable and functional Metal panel Roof. Not only will this roof be much easier to clean and maintain than the old tar and gravel roof, but metal roofing also provides clients with a much longer lasting final product.
The Gordon Smith Gallery of Canadian Artists

Composite Wall Panels3,300 Sft Aluminum Soffit Panels2,900 Sft Zinc wall Tiles 350 Sft Completed:Summer 2012 The Gordon Smith Gallery is a perfect example of craftsmanship and architectural design really coming together to create something special. On the exterior of the building we paired the 3,300 Sft of composite wall panels with 2,900 Sft of custom aluminum soffit panels. In regards to the interior of the building we had the opportunity to create a visually striking conical zinc tile feature that greets gallery goers upon entering the building.

Kiwanis Affordable Housing
– 6200 block Minoru Boulevard, Richmond B.C.
Membrane Waterproofing: 25,000 Sft Ballasted Roofing18,000 Sft Completed:Spring 2015 Located in the Brighouse Village neighbourhood in Richmond. These two 16 story concrete towers consist of 296 one bedroom units offered through the Richmond Kiwanis Senior Citizens Housing Society. Our dedicated Waterproofing crews are right at home among the fast paced, challenging world of tower construction, Making short work of the 25,000 square feet of waterproofing and 18,000 square feet of ballasted roofing.
Carrera
– 6251 block. Minoru Boulevard, Richmond B.C.
2 ply SBS Roofing: 47,000 Sft Membrane Waterproofing: 42,000 Sft Completed:Summer 2015 Carrera by Polygon was a massive project consisting of three separate 17 story concrete towers and a 5,800 square foot amenities building located in the heart of Richmond. This project contained more than 90,000 square feet of parakde roof slab waterproofing, ballasted roofing. Along with almost countless canopies, patio’s and terraces spread across the varying levels of the three towers. For more than thirty years our team of Project Managers, Estimators and Supervising foreman have been providing our clients with the highest standard of quality that has become referred to as “Legendary”
Yorkson Creek Middle School

Insulated Shop Formed panels: 28,000 Sft Wall & Fascia & soffit panels:27,000 Sft Interior ceiling panels:900 Sft Completed:Summer 2014 Yorkson Creek Middle School represents a big step forward for our team at GRC Columbia. This was the flagship project for our custom modular panels that we have since gone on to install on a variety of projects across the province. These panels provide our clients with the look and aesthetic properties of a traditional composite panel, while providing a substantial cost savings for the builder. JT Brown Elementary School
– 12530 60 Ave, Surrey B.C.
Corrugated Cladding:15,000 sft Custom Flat Panels:750 sft Soffit Systems:1,250 sft Completed:Spring 2015 As part of a four million dollar agreement between the Province and the Surrey board of education, JT Brown Elementary School recently underwent a pretty serious seismic retrofit. With all the structural improvements also came an extensive facelift to the exterior of the building. Much of the aging exterior was stripped away and replaced with a 15,000 square feet of corrugated metal panels. These 24 gauge metal panels provide the school with a much more modern look, while also being practical and cost effective to maintain. The front entranceway of the building was then detailed with a very clean, eye catching flat panel feature helping to bring this building into the 21st Century.
John Volken Academy

SBS Roofing:24,000 Sft Membrane Waterproofing: 15,000 Sft Metal Roofing: 24,800 Sft Completed:Fall 2014 The John Volken academy is a long term drug and alcohol treatment centre located on King George highway in Surrey. This facility is designed to help residents overcome their addictions, while provide extensive education and career training opportunities for the residents. The treatment centre was a multi-phase project that required a large scale of roofing throughout the facilities various buildings. Our Architectural sheet metal division undertook the task of completing the 24,000 square foot standing seam metal roof above the gym and recreation building. The 100+ bed residents building, along with the retail and amenities buildings were all completed using in a 2 ply SBS system. In addition to the SBS on the newly constructed buildings GRC also completed substantial re-roofing services to the existing supply warehouse. Lastly we completed 15,000 square feet of seamless monolithic waterproofing across a large landscaped courtyard feature located at the heart of the facility.
Brewery District - Building III

•SBS Roofing:22,000 Sft •Membrane Waterproofing: 6,500 Sft •Composite panels: 1000 Sft •Corrugated Cladding:12,000 Sft •Flat metal panels:3000 Sft •Custom wood grain panels:2700 Sft Nestled into the historic Sapperton neighborhood of New Westminster, Building III of the Brewery District provided GRC with an opportunity to utilize all three divisions of our organization. Firstly our roofing division was dispatched to complete the 22,000 square feet of SBS roofing that was installed across a variety of levels. As the roofing was nearing completion our specialized waterproofing team were onsite to complete the task of waterproofing the parkade ramp, along with a variety of other smaller more intricate details throughout the project. As the waterproofing and roofing wrapped up, our Architectural Sheet metal division began prepping the exterior walls for a variety of different finishes. Blending together corrugated cladding, Aluminum composite, shop fabricated flat metal panels, custom wood grain soffit and wall panels. The end result being a dynamic and eye catching building we are extremely proud to have been a part of.
Shoreline
- 3202 Riverwalk Avenue, Vancouver B.C.
•SBS Roofing:23,500 Sft •Green Roofing: 5,600 Sft •Membrane Waterproofing: 56,000 Sft Completed summer 2015 Shoreline, is a multi-residential waterfront development located upon the banks of the Fraser River in south Vancouver. Made up of a beautiful four level wood frame low rise building featuring modern West Coast architecture and over 23,000 square feet of 2 ply SBS roofing. Accompanying the low rise are two, concrete seven storey midrise towers. The concrete towers boast an impressive amount of parkade roof slab waterproofing. While the rooftops and terraces make up 16,000 square feet of ballasted 2ply roofing. As part of Vancouver’s Greenest City Action Plan, both concrete mid rises were designed to include a Green Roofing component. Green Roofing takes the tested and proven reliability of conventional roof types while applying aspects of ecological architecture to prioritize the importance of sustainability and longevity of the roof system.
